This Pulling Truck Has A Giant LED Screen On The Front For Spectators To See Engine Vitals And A V8 That Revs To Nearly 10,000 RPM

So we love truck pulling here and you know that. You know that because we have shared hundreds of videos over the years of creations big and small pulling the sled. This is something entirely new though and it is something we have never even heard of. This truck has a HUGE LED screen mounted on the front of the weight box that is on the nose of the truck. On that screen are a tach and what look to be various different pieces of engine information. We’re guessing temp and other stuff like that. This is one of the more brilliant things we have ever seen and frankly something that other motorsports could greatly benefit from. Imagine seeing this applied to a drag car or something (obviously not as a huge panel in the front of the car) in another kind of racing. It would give the spectators something new and exciting to see, exactly what the driver is looking at. For gearheads, this is porno level junk. Voyeuristic to the max, we think it really is cool.

Other than the big screen, the other thing about this modified truck is the engine which sounds all the world to be heading to 10,000 RPM for the majority of the pull. To saw that this is a screaming buzz saw from hell would be pretty much selling it short. We know nothing about the displacement or make of the engine but we’re thinking that it is a small block Chevy. The truck is a Chevy Avalanche body but there’s nothing much left of the stock Avalanche under that skin. This is some GLORIOUS noise and frankly one of the highest revving pullers we have heard. To boot, the thing make a pretty good tug down the course.

Pay attention to the tach needle and when it starts to move. Once the thing climbs past what looks to be eight or nine thousand revs, it simply turns bright red in something that may serve as a warning to spectators to beware flying parts!

It should be a Big Block Chevrolet no bigger than 530 cubic inches. Rules in the area require engine to match body manufacturer and typically a 530 ci rule for dot tire classes.

I was going to guess built LSX. If that’s a big block then it’s amazing how hard it revs.

I’m curious as to how anyone can tell what RPMs this thing is turning by that video. I watched a coupe times and I can’t read that blurry display on the front of the truck. Can’t say I believe that thing’s turning the numbers claimed in the write up.

This is an older video of the truck with a 500 cubed big block in it that made 1120 hp.I believe this particular pull it ran around 9500 rpm but went over 10,000 on several other occasions. It now has a 532 big block in it.Check out Temper Tantrum pulling on facebook for more videos and the build up of this truck.
