The only thing we know about this sport is that it involves teams of firemen, high performance cars and trucks, high speeds, and ladders. Some of the teams use cars that look like circle track modifieds and others use seriously modified old trucks.
As best we can tell, this sport is limited to the greater New York state area. You’ll freak when you see these dudes haul down the track, jump off the car or truck and scale a ladder as it is falling over. Extreme athletes have nothing on these dudes!
AFAIK, Drill Team Competition is found only on Long Island where all fire departments are made up of volunteers (or at least they used to be).
As much fun as the ladder competition is to watch, you have to see the Hose Competition.

I remember seeing this on the Wide World of Sports, or I’m creating false memories? Anyway these guys were serious. Full on race cars for ladder and hose competitions.
