For those of your unfamiliar with the Stadium Super Truck series that Robbie Gordon championed, it is pretty awesome. The trucks are basically built to spec but that spec is basically a trophy truck but slightly tamer. By slightly we mean SLIGHTLY because as you will see in this video, these machines boogie and they fly. Literally. When you see the sweet jumps that the trucks pull off and how they land like they are on a pillow of air, your eyes will bug out like our did.

Clearly, the trucks were invited onto the 2014 Long Beach GP course as an exhibition and to grow the attention and following for the series which airs on NBC Sports network. We think that the move was successful because this video has pretty much gone viral on Facebook and through other mediums. Why wouldn’t it? Any time you get to take a purpose-built racing machine and but it in an environment where it should really be out of its element, it makes for great watching. The same way we want to see a pro stock run a road course, we want to see stadium trucks on a GP circuit with jumps!

What is probably best about this video is the fact that it is natural sound. No announcer, no music, just screaming small block engine and howling tires as these trucks raced on the tarmac exactly as they would in the dirt with the same tires and all. There’s guys sliding into walls, spin outs, and like we told you before, sweet jumps. We’re kind of surprised that the trucks fared as well as they did on the road course. The body lean wasn’t nearly as bad as we suspected it would be and the machines actually seemed to do what the drivers were telling them. The tires sure sound pissed about it though!
