Watch a 1200hp Blown and Alky Injected Mud Bogger Go Romping Through the Louisiana Swamp

No matter what type of organized automotive activity that you’re into, there are bragging rights involved. The bragging rights are probably no bigger or more completely over the top than in the world of mud bogging and giant competition trucks. The proof of this statement comes in the form of the video below which shows a humongous Chevy truck with a 540ci blown, alky burning big block that makes 1200+ horsepower and has enough snot to turn tractor tires into props. Don’t believe us on the last part? When the dude driving this truck lays the wood to it in the mud, the 55″ tall tires leap out of the gumbo and the whole truck looks like it is trying to get up on plane like a boat in the water.

Say what you want about the guys that do the mud stuff, but there is some brain power (and big bucks!) involved to build a rig like this. You’ll actually see the truck get mired into a massive sink hole under the water and nearly turn over. Another massive truck comes to the Chevys aid and a quick jerk of the tow strap has him out of danger and not looking like the Andrea Doria.

The in cab video got us laughing because the driver left the rear sliding window of the cab open and he gets blasted pretty good with swampy water a time or two. Also, pay attention before he enters the muck, the truck looks to have a system that pumps water down the windshield, presumably to prevent too much goopy, soupy, gumbo build up on the front of the glass. Pretty trick, like a totally industrial sized wiper washer!

Any truck with a built in step ladder on the front to access the engine is A-OK in our book. We really want to drop the hammer in this baby..bad!
