Yes, this video seems like a setup but in reality that makes the whole thing better. Why? Mainly because no one got killed when a massive Caterpillar 797B mining dump truck ran over a Ford pickup like it was a 1/64th scale model of a truck. This is a very awesome display of how size does matter in some situations and we’re sure this video clip was used as a “visual aide” to help train new employees why they should never stop or park in the middle of a haul road. At a significant distance, the guy driving this truck wouldn’t even be able to see the pickup, let alone stop before running it over. It is actually a testament to the truck driver’s ability in this film that he was able to line the truck up square and completely squash it.

After watching this you don’t have to be a rocket surgeon to understand why the guy in the Suburban always has a better chance at survival over the guy in the Prius. Physics is an amazingly cool thing and as best we know, it has yet to be disproved on a macro basis. Big giant thing hitting smaller lighter thing always ends up with big giant thing winning.
