Ok so there is something weird about this video. For starters there’s the setting which seems to be kind of exotic in its own right and then there is the setup for the jump which is kind of fun because the guy operating the camera reacts with a huge amount of shock when he says, “Oh F%^K he’s going for it!” The jump itself is pretty impressive. It is not world record length but the height and the fact that the thing it all arcing over and stuff makes it look really dramatic and cool. Something falls off the truck and we’re not sure what it is but it doesn’t seem to be hurt otherwise as the driver brings it to a stop. This is when things get weird.
The guy driving the truck jumps out and starts kind of flopping around like he’s out of his mind. The truck is right hand driver so we’re guessing they are in a foreign land and perhaps this dude had not expected for the massive jump to have happened but it sure did and he reacts like someone who has just been given a second lease on life after thinking it was all over.
Can anyone out there figure out this dude’s reaction? Happiness? Shock? Full on mania? Do tell!

It’s a cultural thing – in those dark, foreign lands a little air on a speed bump is cause for the natives to sacrifice to volcanos and carved images to be erected.
Fear for the people that haven’t seen a baja truck go over the same thing at 100 mph. Maybe we can send ambassadors with pre-runners to evangelize these backward people?
