We’ve talked about the amazing things guys are going with side by side ATVs these days but this video is on a totally different level. The vehicle you are going to see is a highly modified RZR XP 900 which has a very robust roll cage, what sounds like a tuned up exhaust, longer travel suspension, and a driver that is both very good and very gutsy. The name of this rock obstacle that he and a lot of others seems gathered around to climb is “Viagra” and it is located at an off-road park in (get this) Disney, Oklahoma. Screw the kiddie rides and ice cream, this is OUR kind of Disney!
It takes the driver two attempts to make it up this virtual cliff face, which is made all the more amazing when you realize that the guys are wading up to the base of the rock in the shallow end of a pond or some other body of water. When we first watched this and saw the wet tires along with the wet rocks we gave the driver zero chance of success. He actually makes a decent break for it on his first go at the hill but decided to lift and back down to the bottom, lining himself up for the real effort. The successful strategy was to stand on the gas, hit the base of the rock as hard as possible, launch completely airborne about half way up, land in a small valley in the rock and power through. The guy executed it and we watched it several times in complete disbelief. We’ve heard of rock bouncing before but rock launching? That is a new and completely awesome one on us.
We REALLY need to get our mitts on one of these machines to modify and mess around with. After seeing this and learning that they can fly we’re all the more interested!
