Hollywood history, dashing looks, solid underpinnings, no rust, a nice interior, and even an opportunity for profit? Have we made the ultimate eBay find? You bet your boots that we have in the form of this stagecoach, nay, 1979 International Scout stagecoach that was once used in the wedding of Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson. The machine looks about as good now as it did when it was generating headlines and carrying around the newly minted Mr and Mrs Reynolds around a couple of decades ago but we guess that living in Arizona for its life has certainly helped as well as the fact that it is a “money making” vehicle for the owners so keeping it tip-top is paramount.
Sure, it is weird but is isn’t the “bad” kind of weird we have shown you recently with bondo sculpted freaks on the pages of Craigslist and other online selling sites. This was professionally built and it was actually one of three made as claimed by the seller on International Scout running gear and frames. Power comes from a 345ci V8 which will run until the end of time and the stagecoach is four wheel drive so if you happen to run into a hostile Native American tribe or just feel like escaping into the wilderness for some fun, you’ll have no trouble.
Double bonus is that the open driving position means that you can get a tan and the shotgun mount is nice and close so if highwaymen try to rob the valuables from your coach, you can blast them before they get too close to you. Frontier living luxury at its absolute finest! Of course sitting in an elevated position ahead of the front wheels may give some strange driving sensations but that’s the price you pay for uniqueness. With seating for 10 you can load up all your pals and head to the local saloon for some sarsaparilla or rot gut whiskey. Your call on that.
We’re weird but we kind of like it, especially knowing that Burt Reynolds once held the title. What say you?
