Watch As This Toyota Land Cruiser Takes A Lesiurely Swim In An Australian River

The standard rule of thumb when it comes to crossing a river in a car of any type is: DON’T. Ask anyone in Phoenix right now who had the misfortune of learning the hard way this week. But don’t tell that to the Australian owner of this Toyota Land Cruiser FJ80. Apparently telling him he can’t and shouldn’t didn’t deter him one bit. This isn’t a straight-across run across the river, either…at one point the big wagon starts to float downstream a little, requiring a correction, one that needs reverse. And that’s a lot more difficult when your Toyota has turned into a four-wheeled hippo of sorts, plodding through the water. At least the truck looks prepared for a swim with a snorkel and (we assume) a fan cutoff. Now, for the question: How much water ends up in the truck at the end? Click play and find out!

NSFW notice: There are a couple of expletives. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but it’s there.

(Thanks to Tedly for the tip!)

80 series with amby doors, likely a diesel, considering the dunking this motor took.
A whole pile of USDM unobtanium crossing that creek.

Guy is an idiot. Doesn’t matter if it had a snorkel, if the water is that deep DO NOT CROSS IT
He’s very lucky it didn’t roll when it started floating. People have died crossing flooded creeks/rivers like that.
