Watching Kelderman’s Bed Lift System For Medium Duty Trucks Work Is Pretty Awesome – One Strong Arm

So you may be wondering a few things after seeing that lead image. The first thing you may be wondering about is why anyone would need a bed lift. The fact is that there are LOTS of medium duty and large pickups that are so high it makes loading cargo, especially heavy stuff nearly impossible into them. A bed lift puts that bed at ground level so you can load your pallet of bricks, lawn tractor, groceries, furniture, or whatever else you want to move with the truck in, strap it down, and then the truck pulls the bed back onto itself and you are on your merry way. The second question about why Kelderman would make such a thing means that you are either woefully unfamiliar with the customers and history of Kelderman or you are just a dolt. We know that there are no BangShifty dolts so we’ll tell you that Kelderman has a long history in manufacturing not just heavy duty truck suspensions but also a long history in making heavy equipment for agriculture and hard work. Combining those two elements gets you the magical combo of a smart and dedicated organization that really knows how to build stuff.

The video below shows the bed lift installed on a Ford F-650 chassis which is one of the heavier duty chassis that sees pickup style conversions most often. The whole thing is pretty awesome to watch, especially the loading on process because of how smoothly it takes the bed on the ground and just hauls it back onto the chassis of the truck. Granted, this is unloaded but it is still neat and we’re now obsessed with owning something large enough to require such a thing!

Your thinking this wrong Brian. If you bolted this system onto say a 3500 series pickup you could then use multiple dedicated rear bed configurations. For instance, a flat deck for hauling lumber, a dump bed for bulk materials, a welding work deck, a wrecker unit, a full RV camper unit, what ever configuration you want. One truck can be used in multiple ways thus reducing costs.

Its a good Idea, and like DJ said being able to swap out modules makes it better, throw in water tank/fire fighting rig, sand/fertilizer spreader ect. Its a lot Like the HEMMIT LHS/PLS rack system.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Flat racks are awesome. The OEs should offer something like this. I would get one for my Dodge just for my motorcycle. I’d buy a hunting rig and flat bed too.

My cousin has a truck similar to this, its a four door f550 and he bought it as a small dumpster truck for like home owner type rentals. Since then hes built a bunch of different beds including an open flat bed. I’ve even seen him drive his skid steer in one of the dumpsters and then pull it up onto the truck…pretty neat.
