There are many different things to get excited about with the 2016 SEMA show coming. There’s the new parts and pieces that we will see, there are the parties we’ll duck into, but most importantly there are all the builds that are being revealed at the show. These things vary from amazingly nice restorations and customs to insane rigs like the world’s fastest off-road vehicle that will be debuted at the Aeromotive booth on Tuesday November 1 at 10:30am.

We’ve got some inside scoop on this thing that we cannot publish but the bones of the story are below. This Duramax truck has been built by Robby Woods at Battleborn Engineering to smash every existing record in the book and be fully functional as more than just a speed freak. Outside of the cab, the transmission, and the torque converter, the brand new Duramax truck is largely gone. This thing is a monster and we cannot wait to see it at the Aeromotive booth!

Robby Woods has the disease. Oil and gas are in his blood, pumping through his veins, and fueling his passion for all things racing and fabrication. His family encouraged his addiction because they knew it well – his grandfather raced in USAC Midgets and his father raced ARCA and NASCAR Winston Cup. He knew early on that he would never rid himself of this industry he called his lifeblood. The deciding factor for Robby came at the tender age of six and in the form of a Kawasaki KX60. He sped off toward his ambitions, never looking back.

He officially kick-started his career by jumping into professional off-road short-course racing, and went on to have eight successful seasons. Life threw in a few twists and led him down an exciting, yet stressful road. Nowadays, he puts his passion and ambition to good use by building the most cutting-edge off-road vehicles at the facility he started himself: Battleborn Engineering. When he’s not doing that, he enjoys hangs out with like-minded people. All of this – his passion, ambition, lifeblood, and penchant for people, led him to Chevrolet. Robby partnered with Chevrolet to build the world’s fastest off-road vehicle. Chevrolet provided Robby with a Duramax Diesel truck and it will be unlike any vehicle ever built. It’s a mid-engine all-wheel drive, triple turbo-charged full-tube chassis. To meet the needs of this massive truck, Robby knew that Aeromotive was the way to go for his fuel system.

This truck is truly one-of-a-kind – the only original parts on it are the cab, converter, and transmission. Everything else is fabricated and pieced together by Robby himself. His dedication to this project, including buckets of blood, sweat, tears, and many sleepless nights over the past two years, speaks to the passion and ambition of this man.
