Is This The World’s Quickest Mack Truck? Watch It Boil The Tires And The Run 11s At 120 +

We’ve showed you a little window into the wild world of high performance diesel big rig trucks and buses on the small island of Puerto Rico before and we all went nuts for it. These guys LOVE to build fast big rigs and even fast fast school buses and they are run on the handful of drag strips that the enthusiasts have at their disposal. Yes, we said strips as in multiple. There are both quarter and eighth mile tracks on Puerto Rico. This video was shot at a quarter mile track and the quality of the footage is great. You’ll see the truck do a smoking burnout, stage, and the hustle down the quarter mile. One of the interesting things is the scoreboard which keeps a running timer on the screen as the truck hurtles down the track.

The whole truck looks to be a tube chassis affair with a custom nose equipped with a stock Mack grill. The actual cab of the truck seems to be stock or close to it but the whole thing is slammed down to the ground on the custom chassis. A look inside the truck shows a funny car style cage and all of the bars you’d expect to find in any heavy duty drag race car. Campaigned by the Dumont Transportation company, this is a well built and seemingly high tech race truck. One of the things we dig about the diesel scene on the island is that these trucks are largely fielded by competing trucking companies so the rivalries run pretty deep.

We love the fact that the truck is still running on a dually style truck tire and not a slick or a super single. While this is most definitely a race truck, it is Mack powered and it does really fly. So is this the world’s quickest Mack truck in your eyes? We’ve gotta get over there an experience this stuff for ourselves.
