Would You Have The Guts To Keep Your Foot In It Like This Logging Truck Driver? (Video)

When it comes to tough driving jobs, hauling logs is one of the hardest. The roads are often very treacherous, the weather in mountainous regions can be terrible, and the sheer weight that these trucks are moving is enormous. The truck we see here appears to us like a Russian ZiL and it is loaded to the gunwales with logs. The guy shooting the video is out ahead of the rig as we see it rumble down a trail in the woods and then approach a steep grade. Like in lots of videos you can’t really tell how steep said grade is until the truck starts to climb it and the front end starts to climb for the freaking sky.

With nowhere to go but down and the front end multiple feet in the air, the driver does a pretty awesome job of walking the thing up the hill and then setting the nose down on the road. The only problem we see? He’s going to need to back like halfway down that sucker and re-approach the road because he ended up completely across it, rather than traveling in either direction that it runs!

Unless the driver has made this trip, under these conditions a bunch it could not have been a good feeling to have the nose of the truck up in the air like a missile and that steep grade fighting it all the way. If the driveshaft failed in that position, he’d have been on a really scary ride backwards down the hill and all those sticks in the back of the truck would become potential spears through the cab. Yikes!
