(Photos by Wes Allison) – While the 2018 Auto Club NHRA World Finals may be over, we have days of photos left to share from the crazy weekend in SoCal. From Super Gas cars wrecking into the sand to all four Mello Yello series national champions winning their respective classes at the race, there was awesome stuff happening at every possible turn.

In this gallery we continue with sportsman photos which were actually taken near the start of the race last week. There were loads of racers from all across America and Canada running at the Finals for a multitude of reasons. The first is that it gives people an opportunity to avoid winter a little bit longer, the second is that there are national championships on the line to be run for, and thirdly, top 10 finishers all want to be part of the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series awards on Monday.
