Would You Pay $75,000 For A Rare Bronco Themed Ford Bronco On Super Bowl Sunday?

As we all know by now desirable, rare vehicles with cool back stories are the ones that garner the most money, especially when they are in absolute pristine condition. Take this 1975 Ford Bronco for example. In and of itself any first generation Bronco is worth a pile of money if it is in the condition that this one it but when we get into the interesting backstory department, things rapidly escalate. According to the seller, this is one of 77 1975 Ford Broncos that were destined to be sent to Bill Stroppe for their conversion into the special order “Baja Bronco” models. These were street legal machines dressed up and lightly modified in the vein of the famed race trucks that Stroppe turned out of his California shop. With larger tires, special wheels, fender flares, and other optional equipment Baja Broncos were cool and pretty hardcore off roaders for their day. About 650 of them were ever made and apparently this load would have put the number over 700 but a funny thing happened before they shipped. Stroppe’s shop burned to the ground and the program ceased.

While there was lots of optional equipment installed by Stroppe back in the day the unifying factor between all of the Broncos he messed with was the paint scheme. Metallic blue on the roof, Wimbledon white in the middle, and Poppy Red below the belt line. This truck has that and the paint is in immaculate condition. In fact, the whole truck is in near perfect shape!

Back to the seller’s story. After the order to Stroppe’s was halted, a Denver Ford dealer called Golden Ford received all 77 of the trucks and then distributed them around the state from there. This one was sold in the Ft. Collins area originally and has the right numbers to match the Baja intended trucks. Having been completely restored, it is immaculate. The restoration seems to have added a couple of modern Bronco helmets on the front fenders and the modern logos on the rear windows but everything else, right down to the special wheels is there. The 302 has been rebuilt and treaded to a little cam upgrade for some more cruising power.

So on this Super Bowl Sunday, whether you are rooting for the Broncos or not, you have to love this amazingly clean and pretty interesting 1975 Ford Bronco, right?

I can why 1st gen Broncos command theat much money since they usually return to the earth in the form of rust! But $75K, he is dreaming an impossible dream.

I don’t have $75,00 dollars but if I did I’d love to have it. I would proudly drive around Virginia making people scratch their heads and say Wow! What a beautiful example of American craftsmanship.
