If you are in the market for a pleasure craft, look no further than this beautiful example of form AND function right here. Sure this was designed and intended to be a military vehicle, intended for shuttling five tons of supplies at a time from ship to shore. Used most intensely during the Vietnam war, there are a couple hundred left in service today and this is one of the “lucky” ones which was updated and revamped. The machine has only 175 hours on the 300hp Cummins V8 that provides the power, the huge tires look virtually new, and we bet the pilot house still has that “revamped LARC-V” smell that we have heard so much about.
In all seriousness, how awesome would this thing be to cruise down the road and right into the water? It will go a whole 30mph on land and just under 10 mph in the water. While that is no speed boat, you could ram and sink anyone you wanted to. Constructed of aluminum, the LARC weighs 22,000lbs. Yes, it would be a total pain in the neck to tow it somewhere but with that reliable Cummins making the power, you have nothing to worry about.
We’d add a sweet canopy over the deck, some hammocks, some coolers, and a BBQ grille and be of on our merry way for the day or the week. If we didn’t want to sleep on out at sea we could just find a beach or someone’s backyard to cruise up on. We bet they wouldn’t mind and if they did mind we could always drive through their house to prove a point.
Anyway, this is the most BangShifty watercraft we have seen in some time and we’d LOVE to take it for a cruise on the land OR the sea!

Too slow and wide for the road and its “raming speed” makes it useless even against the peddle boats on the Charles River. “Boats and Harbors”. (the yellow sheet) has them for far less.
Tow it? I’d just take the back roads to the nearest boat ramp.
Fuel Capacity 144 Gallons. Range 335 mi. land, 110 mi. water. Diesel fuel is cheap right now, but not THAT cheap!
