Hey Big Dave looking forward to hooking up with you for the drive to Arlington and hopefully this time we can run the PT with you and anyone else we can corral up. I WILL NOT BE IN MY RUBICON! LOL

I made these about 30 minutes after the anouncement and they were all around $80.00 per night give or take with the exception of Arlington. It was just over $100.00 I have alternates in Memphis and Birmingham and everything is subject to change.

Got all of my hotels done today. I also noted the bump up in rates. I stay with Choice hotels (Comfort Inn/Sleep Inn). Nothing against HI, I had a second job with Choice and still get the points. I hope to get to Arlington on Thursday and hit Six Flags before the Tour starts. I'm betting that the Texarkana venue will be the "Four States Fairgrounds" which is on the north side of town. There are already two hotels in Chatanooga that are unavailable. I bet F/E has them locked down and will sell you one for a "small mark-up". The most I spent this year is in Memphis at the Comfort Inn downtown. Does anybody remeber "Hot Rods on Beale"? (I remember some of it.) Prety sure Comp Cams will do the same sort of thing. I have stayed there several times, it is 5 blocks from Beale Street, has views of the Mississippi River and has secure, undergound parking.

Well I got mine reserved today, I found out the company that owns our mill has a corporate discount with Best Western so I went all the way with B.W.got a pretty good rate. Will see how it turns out. But I was surprised to see how many were already booked or blocked out ( FE ). Also NO PREPAY and NO CANCELLATION POLICIES. I noticed there were few more hotels doing the no cancellation that didn't last year.

Finished mine up tonight, HIE all the way. Didn't have any problems with vacancies...did I reserve the wrong dates or do something else wrong?

And since who knows how long the Long Hauler ceremony will be, we will cut the trip home in half on Saturday with a stop in Mt Juliet, TN.

Have any of you veterans ever had a problem with a room not being available when you make reservations this far in advance? Any tips to keep this from happening? Even though I have confirmation numbers for each stop I realize that when the rubber hits the road that you can't sleep in a confirmation number.

make sure that your card that you held the rooms with has an expiration date beyond the date of your reservations. Join(if you haven't already) the priority club. call( or email is better,you have a record that way) the hotel 30 days prior to your stay. That is about as bullet-proof as you can get.

Always call a couple weeks before the Tour starts. Before the '11 Tour I found 2 hotels that I had booked had closed w/o the company bothering to inform me. A letter to the Corp resulted in coupons for 2 free nights!
