We love miniature engines and when we see truly incredible examples of small engines we love sharing them with you. In this case it is a 1/3 scale Cosworth F1 DFV V8. The engine was built completely from scratch and believe it or not, the dude who made the first one got it licensed by Cosworth and is now selling them. We’re guessing the price is not equivalent to the famed “visible V8″ stuff that you built as a kid with your dad.
The detail is astonishing and when you hear the thing run with its 1″ stroke and slightly under 1” bore, it has all the same screaming quality as the real versions that dominated F1 racing for many years naturally aspirated and then in turbocharged form.
As if the running engine were not enough, how about a freaking scale transmission complete with stub shafts coming out of it! We do not see a gearshift lever but we’re sure that the trans is filled with gears because why wouldn’t it be, right?
