This is one of the most fun videos we have found in a while. You are going to see trucks that people pay an arm and a leg for today getting worked in ways that will make you really, really happy. Why would that make you happy? These things all get turned into street rod/cruisers today but back then they were just trucks and trucks that their owners beefed up with more horsepower and stronger driveline components.
We are not sure where this thing was shot but we think that it looks like a fairgrounds setting. The film opens up with side by side dirt drag racing without a sled in sight. The trucks seem predominantly Chevrolet or GM in their make and you can tell a few of them are stick shifted because you see the nose of the rigs rise and fall with the shifts. It looks like they are running 300′ or so in this competition.
Only one of the trucks seems to make the cross over between the drag racing portion of the program and that is a long bed, two tone machine that looks to be a’72 to us. The look of these trucks, the slot mags, the tube roll bars, and all the other stuff is perfection in today’s world.
Today’s world of pulling street trucks seems to be dominated by the diesel enthusiasts. We do not see a lot of late model gas trucks pulling but we see loads of Cummins, Duramax, and Powerstroke rigs hooked to sleds all across the country.
