600 Horsepower, 12.33-Second E.T. for Vortech 2010 Camaro, Says Edmunds

What do you get when you cross a brand new, six-speed-automatic Camaro SS and a V-3 Si-Trim Vortech supercharger? How about 603 hp and 518 lb/ft
of torque? That’ll ruffle your toupee for sure.

Mag freelancer and Edmunds.com contributor John Pearley Huffman got the chance to thrash Vortec’s test car
and the beast turned some good numbers, running in the low 12s according to a datalogger. Huffman was generally impressed with the car and its
performance. The car is nearly a full second quicker to
60 mph than a stocker.

One weirdly interesting part of the story are the specific instructions
that one needs to follow to outwit the car’s traction control system.
Huffman defeats the electronic nanny and claims that massive smoke
shows are not a problem, nor should they be with 518 lb/ft of torque!

We’re waiting by the phone for Vortech to call and give us a shot to “beat the system”!
