On Thursday, the legal teams for NASCAR and Jeremy Mayfield have to meet with a Federal judge due to some issues with the discovery phase of the lawsuit. Basically, the NASCAR attorneys are claiming that Mayfield’s team is stonewalling and delaying by not providing requested information that they are required to share. There’s even some highbrow e-mail fighting that’s been published.
With the trial not slated to happen until next September and the sides already treating each other this way, we’re thinking this will not be the only meeting that they are called into with the judge.
HamptonRoads.com published the story and managed to dig up some e-mails and text messages that were shot back and forth between the lawyers. It is high brow comedy with the sides using all kinds of stiff language to accuse each other of trying to stifle the other side’s effort. By the judge’s tone in his meeting request, he’s not happy with the way this whole thing is moving along.
Meanwhile, what’s Mayfield keeping himself occupied with?
