Erin Crocker was a developmental driver for Ray Evernham Motorsports back between 2004 and 2007. She also became Evernham’s love interest during that time and last weekend the two were married. The interesting thing is that their relationship came to public light in 2006 when our ol’ pal Jeremy Mayfield was fired by Evernham, filed a lawsuit (shocking!) and claimed his car sucked because Crocker was being treated as a favorite, due to the romantic relationship she was having with Evernham.

Eventually, Evrenham Motorsports paid Mayfield out of court to drop the suit. Mayfield, when quoted in a 2006 NY Times story on the matter said, “I didn’t cross the line until I was forced into the position I had to cross the line,” he said. “I just had to do what I had to do. I wasn’t the one that made it public. It wasn’t no secret. That’s his personal life, his personal problems, not mine.”

Classy dude.

Congrats to the happy couple, we don’t think Jeremy Mayfield was at the wedding though. He was probably keeping an eye on his cat.
