Friday Excuse to Go Home Early and Drink: Clunkers Turning Office Workers Into Executioners

We’re still kind of stuck on Cash for Clunkers, and this NewsDay story is the reason why. Tons of cars have yet to be “killed” using the government’s mandated method of pouring liquid glass into the oil and running the motor until it locks up. At one Louisiana dealer, they pulled a desk jockey off his normal duty to kill the trad-ins.

We’re wonderingwhat the sodium silcate in these destroyed engines does to the recycling process. The cars themselves are required to be destroyed within 180 days of hitting the junkyard. Guess they’re in a rush to get that steel to China.

We’d keep typing, but it’s slow going with this Scorpion Bowl in our hand. You read, we’ll drink.
