There are few vehicles more ironic than the mighty Dodge Power Wagon. When we saw this awesome 1952 model for sale on AutoTraderClassics.com, we instantly fell in love. Not counting the original Jeep, is there any more spartanly cool vehicle than a Power Wagon? We think not.
This truck is advertised as having just 31,000 miles on it. It has lived its whole life in eastern Oregon, and because it is a 1952 model, it sports an 8-foot bed, which was not available on any other trucks in the Dodge line. That bed, which previously had flat sides, was gussied up with some ribbing for strength and dare we say style points.
We think this truck came in the heaviest available GVW, which was 8700lbs. The heavy duty stuff included 1,600lb-capacity front springs and 3,000lb-capacity rears. We’re guessing on the heavier GVW because the seller put new 9.00×16 tires on it, which were standard with the heavy duty suspension. The optional factory winch is also present and accounted for here. That’s helpful to use for dragging wuss-bag modern trucks out of holes that the Power Wagon can idle through.
It’s heavy and it’s slow, but this handsome brute is nearly unstoppable.
