Bad Career Move: City Employee Charged with Stealing $58K in Diesel Fuel

When a guy whose job is to deliver fuel for the city of Baltimore goes rogue, it’s going to be expensive for the tax payers and lucrative for the law breaker.

Long story short, it was. The story is even better than you think though because this guy was selling the fuel, for the princely sum of $1.00 per gallon, to people who were busted in a massive car theft ring. That buck went straight into his pocket.

Over the course of nearly two years, he pumped 58,000 gallons into holding tanks for people who were most likely using the fuel to power trucks that were transporting stolen cars out of the city.

This sly fox got busted when the theft ring was broken up and he’s set to stand trial in a few weeks.
