You Can Choose One Vehicle That You’ve Never Driven Before, What Do You Choose?

You Can Choose One Vehicle That You’ve Never Driven Before, What Do You Choose?

On Facebook some idiot always posts questions asking whether you have ridden in certain iconic cars. The most recent was a VW Beetle. It got us thinking about a couple things. First, that if you haven’t ridden in or driven a VW Beetle then you really need to fix that. And in a hurry. It also got us thinking about the list of dream rides we still haven’t had the chance to drive. But if we could only drive one of the cars on that list, which one would we choose? Hmmmm

That’s a tough one for any real car guy. While we certainly have favorites, there are so many bitchin rides that are on the dream drives list, I’m not sure how you pick just one. And then there is the fact that some of the cars on the list are likely to get driven just because we know people, so maybe we shouldn’t pick them and instead pick one we absolutely know we’ll have no chance with otherwise. I don’t know, I’m sure there are a bunch of strategies to how and why we should choose what, but ultimately it’s up to each of us.

So which vehicle do you choose if you have once choice and one choice only? YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY VEHICLE!

Tough question, I worked at Exotic Car (consignment) dealers in the 90s, had the opportunity to drive almost everything, Hemi Daytonas, Cudas, RRs, BBCs in everything (LS6 Chevelles were special), real Cobras, Ferrraris, Lambos, Cobra Jets, GNXs (again special), wild Hot Rods, Turbo Porsches, Kit Cars–great jobs working for crooked people. I think I would like to see how fast I’d really like to go, drag school then work my way up up until I’ve had enough. I find my SBC MGB to be quicker and faster than everything I drove 90s, more then enough on the street for entertainment.

The new Ford GT. Looks like I’d have to diet and get some physical therapy in order to get in and out.

Tommy Ivo’s 4-engine dragster…4 – 454 CI buick nailheads and all wheel drive ?…Stupid fun if you ask me..

    Hmmm,

Given limited information (e.g Street-legal, as delivered etc), I\’d have to select a 1968 Hemi Barracuda 4-speed. If street legality is required, again, as delivered condition and equipment, then I\’d likely choose a 1973 Super-Duty Formula Firebird with a 4-speed. Of course there\’re a LOT of excellent potential candidates, but your question restricts us to a single vehicle selection. In late model stuff, there\’re a number of excellent choices, but at a super-premium price point.

Wow. That is such a tough question. To choose just one. It would be from these top three:

    A Hemi Roadrunner or GTX
A 69 Nova L-78 396, 4 spd. The most brutal stock muscle car I have ever ridden in.
    Penske/SunocoTrans Am 68 Camaro

So many muscle cars to choose from….. but I’d really like to take a long drive in a V12 Jaguar XKE

  7. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

A fully road legal (in the UK) rock racer to terrorize all the smart SUVs during the school run and smash all opposition in the Off Road Safaris!

oh my .. I\’m a 340 freak who owns a 2016 R/T 345ci \”5.7\” so it\’s got to be between the T/A or AAR right, so i\’m going to Pick the 1974 Cuda 360ci … lol. I call them Steve Boudreau after my neighbor who owned a 1974 B5 Cuda 4 speed with White Leather . It is still my most Favorite Car of All time .. i was 14 in 74.
