We here at BangShift.com would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the veterans who have served our country through the years. The sacrifice of time, sweat, and blood have preserved our way of life and our ability to enjoy the benefits and freedoms that only America can offer.
We hope that all of our readers join us in thanking the veterans today, and every day for all that they have done on our behalf. We’ve made it a point for the last several years to extend our hand in thanks to any person in uniform we see while traveling or elsewhere. It is a little thing, but we certainly realize that these men and women don’t hear that sentiment nearly enough.
Veterans Day was first celebrated in 1918 as Armistice Day to celebrate the ending of World War One. It was Dwight Eisenhower, in 1954 who changed the holiday to Veterans Day, observing the heroic efforts of military service members in our country to that point.
Thanks to all who have served and are currently serving. Know that we appreciate your sacrifice, service, and dedication to our country and to keeping us all safe!
Thanks Bangshift and thanks veterans!
And thank you, for your thoughts and concern.. Its too bad we didn’t get this kind of recognition when we came home! C. M. Crow, U.S.N. ’63’67.
Thanks, BangShift!
