One of the things I personally think is cool about BangShift is that you never really know what’s coming next. On any given day we could be showing you bitchin’ drag racing in Pennsylvania, a driveway tech story from California, traditional rods in Texas, hot car show or racing action from the Chicago area, and whatever else crosses my desk. The only reason this is remotely possible is because of an amazing group of dudes who fly the BangShift banner at events and shows from coast to coast.
Joe Grippo and Doug Garrison make up our eastern contingent. These two guys from PA are neck deep in the drag racing and rodding scene of the area. Grippo bleeds Ford blue but has a general appreciation for all kinds of junk that makes noise. Doug’s a rep for the Goodguys and like Grippo pretty much digs anything with a motor. He even shares my odd love of big giant trucks.
Charles Wickam is our dedicated man on the scene in Texas. This year he has shot everything fro dirt track modifieds to mud bogs to the ADRL and everything in between. We’re not sure how, but he’s actually made friends with lots of the car club dudes down there and actually gets invited to hang out in public with them. He just received an old Ford F100 project truck that looks as though it was roomies with the Titanic for a while. We look forward to following his progress.
Greg Rourke and Bob Chiluk our the Chi-town hustlers of our crew. These guys slay drag racing and car show coverage in the Chicago area and Rourke shipped me the worst booze known to man recently. This swill, called Malort is only sold in the Chicago area and is the most bizarre tasting junk ever. I am currently recording my family members drinking it for a video to be made at a later date. Outside of his penchant for helping me make my family members ralph, Greg is great with a camera and with blog tips. Rourke actually dragged Bob Chiluk into this whole BS mess in 2011 and Bob’s been an amazing addition to the team. From his California gearhead vacation photos to a sneak peek into a private collection, Bob’s photos have been fantastic.
Finally, Scott Liggett has been jamming all year in the greater Los Angeles area. From swap meet and car show coverage to killer, dirty handed tech stories from wrenching on his vintage junk, Scott has really developed his photo and writing skills throughout 2011. He even roomed with Chad during the California Hot Rod Reunion and lived to tell the tale!
To all the guys and girls who have sent a gallery, blog tip, word of encouragement, thank you, suggestion, critique, or insult, thank you. This place would not be the vibrant and growing place that it is whitout your help. It is extremely humbling to consider the reach and scope of what BangShift has become from our modest beginnings. We’ve got a bunch of kick ass news, new sponsors, and big plans for 2012. We’ll be hitting you upside the head with that once the odometer rolls over to 2012.
A sincere thank you to all of our readers, sponsors, and supporters. We’re literally nothing without you guys.
Both Chad and I, along with our families would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We’ll be jamming content through the end of the day today then we will run some “Best of BangShift” items early next week, and fire up the news and fresh content midweek, preparing for a monster kick off to 2012. Details to follow, but there’s lots of nitro coming and a new look to grace your screens as well!

I really like the Drive Way Tech. Good Job Scott and all.
(Nice Firebird!)
Thanks Brian, I’m very proud to be a small part of Bangshift. Dropping the Bangshift name has gotten me passes to shoot photos from the wall at the starting line, something I had been trying to do for years. And many times while at car shows I get “Hey! It’s the Bangshift guy! Will you shoot my car?” Plan on me and Bob torturing you guys for many years to come.
THANKS Brian for the awesome wheelie pic! Day of the drags wouldn’t have been the same without your coverage! Hang’em high, “TOO FAT TOO FLY”!!
