It is always cool to peek behind the curtain of a company like MSD to see where the parts that so many of us use on our stuff get made. MSD is based in El Paso, Texas and that’s where this video was shot. Ed Monte takes us for a tour of both the offices and most importantly the manufacturing plant where the real magic happens. You’ll see some bitchin’ stuff especially when a magneto from a Top Fuel car is tested. The results of which are like something out of the special effects department of a movie studio!

There’s a ton more hand assembly done on these products that we would have ever imagined, especially in the distributor department. The workers are highly efficient and use refined processes and yet it still hits us as being neat that a dude actually tests and hand boxes your distributor before it arrives at your favorite speed shop or high performance warehouse.
