We wanted to drop a quick note of congratulations to Bob Tasca III, the winner of  Funny Car at the GatorNationals last weekend. The Tasca family has been an institution in drag racing for the better part of 40 years now and this win is just huge for them.

Bill Lawton was their driver during the heyday of Super Stock and the evolution into Funny Cars. These guys single handedly invented the Thunderbolt and the Cobra Jet Mustang, “old man” Tasca was directly responsible for having John Force racing in the Ford stable, and now they can say that they have a Wally from a family member.

It took Tasca 27 races to finally win one and Bob did it in fine fashion, qualifying number one and carrying that level of performance through Sunday.

We’re thinking that it’s going to be high fives at the family’s Rhode Island Ford dealership today.
