Brian Wolfe of Ford Racing Says New NASCAR Mill Will Hit Track Soon

A while back Ford Racing announced that it had a new mill prepared for use in NASCAR. This new motor feaures some technological advancements that should help teams in several areas, not just the horsepower department.

Brian Wolfe, the man who helms Ford Racing, recently granted RacinToday.com an indepth interview on both the new motor and several of the challenges that will be facing the Ford Racing team down the road. Interestingly he mentions that Ford does not have a lot of cash to throw at teams but will provide lots of engineering help and testing for them.

Wolfe makes very clear that the engine is not a pandora’s box of miracles, but he does seem particularly hopeful about its performance. In the story he mentioned that the engine will hit the track prior to the start of the chase. Teams will not be mandated to run the engine as they’re pretty deep into the season with the older motors and may not want to jumble things up going into that important part of the season.
