Here’s a little vintage vinyl to get your day rolling. The tune is called Dragsters On The Prowl and it is a catchy one that we presume comes from the 1960-1965 time frame. The name of the group is The Woofers and we’ve got no shame in telling you that before today we’d never heard of them before. The song is a fun listen and it has all the elements of the Gary Usher era of surf music that came out of SoCal and made everyone living around the rest of the country long to be there.
The video is a little odd in a fun way with a small dog toy riding round on the record and a few others popping in to make appearances while the song plays. Beware you’ll be stuck with, “Dragsters on the prowl….fastest shift in town…” in your head all day after hearing this song. Know anything about the band or any other songs they had? We’re interested to lean more about ’em!
