Let’s face it, just about every racer at one time or another has dreamt about owning their own race track. I’m no different, and either are you. But there just aren’t that many race tracks around, let alone for sale. And when they do come up they are usually not cheap since they come with so much land. Such is not the case with Albany Motor Speedway which has just come up for sale. It’s a 46 acre facility with a semi-banked 1/4 mile clay oval on it and all kinds of equipment to run the place. With 46 acres, and based on the provided plot map, there is plenty of room to do all kinds of stuff. Dragstrip? Maybe. Road course? For sure! Mud pit? It’s Georgia ain’t it? Yeah, we can think of all kinds of fun things to do with the land. And the asking price is just $300,000. For us Californians that sounds like a hell of a deal for 46 acres. Sure it isn’t real close to any big city, but isn’t that part of the charm and fun of the entire place? We think so. If it was just a little closer to the middle of the country I’d be trying to convince my parents that this is the way to spend their retirement home money. LOL
Brian Jortner is the one trying to sell the place, and he was kind enough to send us a little info and some information on the equipment and buildings. Anyone want to buy this place and let me run it and live on it?

$300k for 46 acres, sounds like a great deal. How is the town though? If it’s in the middle of nowhere, and there’s no fan attendance, you aren’t going to make much money. Also, say you do put a drag strip here. Are the locals gonna complain about noise and try to get you shut down?
Maybe I’d go halves in with someone. Lol
US 19 dragway is right across the road
It was an awesome as an asphalt short track. Once they pulled up the pavement and made it a dirt track the quality of cars went to crap and the car count dropped off to nothing in a hurry. Sad to see it in that condition.
Track has plenty of fans and supporters as a dirt track, just was poorly managed recently and over priced. if someone would open it back up they could make a killin with it. it was the best dirt track is south Georgia!!
