The latest Chevy Camaro, which has been seeing action on American race tracks for some time now recently started turning tires in European road racing action. The Dutch GT4 team, Equipe Verschuur took delivery of their two Riley Motorsport Technologies prepared Camaros and unleashed them on the famed Nurburgring in Germany.
We’re not going to pretend to know what the hell the Dutch GT4 series is all about, but from the looks of the car, it may be similar to the old Speed Touring Car Championship. From the action photo in the story we saw, the Camaro looks similar to what we used to see in that series.
Being brand new iron, the team spent their race weekend getting comfortable in the car, testing the setup and generally testing the limits of the machine. With respect to results, the quicker of the two cars managed a fourth place finish in the first race and a fifth place finish in the second race. That’s not too shabby for a debut weekend!
It’s always cool when American iron competes with foreign stuff, especially when it is on the foreign soil and the cars stand up to the test!
