If you’ve made your mind up to race your car, some things need to be checked out to make sure they are up to the rigors of the track. You are pushing the car further than the car was ever intended to go, after all, and you should at least make sure that the car is up to par. Wheels, tires, brakes, suspension components…all of them are vital to a happy and successful track experience. The goal is to come away from the track with your adrenaline up, your depression down, and your car and body in one piece.

This footage is from (where else?) the Nurburgring Nordschliefe, and here we have a Corvette Z06 that is known to be packing 600 or so horsepower making a run. We’ve seen this car in other Nurburgring footage, and it has the ability to stay with an Ariel Atom, a flyweight track monster with a much better power-to-weight ratio. It’s a legitimate runner, but today…today is not the owner’s day, sadly. In addition to a freshly-crashed Corvette, the track is going to want the repair costs for that Armco he bounced off of, and then there is the cost of the new pants. But at least he walked away unharmed.
