As we showed you a couple of days ago, Ken Block recently turned his former rally-spec 1978 Ford Escort Mk.2 into his next Gymkhana car. It’s a evil little screamer, sporting a naturally-aspirated four-cylinder that screams it’s lungs out at RPM ranges normally associated with superbikes and corners like it’s on rails. Ken also made mention about letting some friends take their turn behind the wheel of the Escort, as well. Our invitation is probably lost in the mail, but in all seriousness, what sane man would allow some random friends to hop behind the wheel of his ballistic race car that is also a coveted classic and just beat on it to their heart’s content?
Oh, right.
The lucky individual with first crack at the wheel is fellow Hoonigan Ryan Tuerck. Tuerck is a pro drifter, one of the members of the Drift Alliance group (with fellow members Vaughn Gitten, Jr. and Tony Angelo of Hot Rod Garage) and can drive his ass off. But a question must be asked: why would you entrust a guy whose last name has actually become synonymous with crashing out and blowing up with your brand new ride?
Oh, right:
