Caption This: “Just Some Good Old Boys, Color Blind As Can Be…”

Have you ever wandered around a car show, enjoying the sights when something just stops you in your tracks? Something so out-of-place that your brain cannot figure out a proper reaction to? Picture walking the lawns of Pebble Beach, and among the coach built LeBarons and exquisite Mercedes there was a lowrider Geo Tracker painted in that “I Love The 1990s!” aqua color with the pink graphics set in three-wheeled motion. That kind of arresting visual.

While digging through some old pictures, I came across this shot of a 1969 Dodge Charger I snapped a picture of in 2012. I’ll be up-front: I’m not a huge fan of Chargers done up as a General Lee clone, mostly because there’s tons of them, but I can appreciate a nice one, just like I can appreciate a nice Dodge Charger Daytona. I even like the High Impact Color palette that Chrysler used back then, because the colors really stand out, almost to the point of glowing. Now take all three items – Daytona, General Lee, and a dash of Sassy Grass Green – jam them into a blender, and mix. This “Duktona” is what you might end up with, and you can bet that Uncle Jesse does not approve.

And THAT is why you don’t drop acid in the paint booth!

I’m with you on General clones, especially considering how great chargers look in Sassy Grass Green or Plum Crazy Purple. Better yet, what’s sexier than a satin black Charger?

Something is also really wrong with that front wheelwell, it looks like it was hacked out to fit a monster truck tire.

Not to mention he has VERY LARGE SEATS and can’t spell Daytona. Ricky Bobby would give it a thumbs up tho

One day, Uncle Jesse couldn’t remember if it was the first gallon or the last gallon out of the still that you’re supposed to throw away.

This guy was the Bell of the Ball on a certain Charger Board …it has a 392 HEMI to boot

Sometimes the cars can’t choose their owners.
