Have you seen where a company takes a late-model car and changes up the sheet metal to make it look like a classic? We have…C5 Corvettes into C1 and C2s, 2005-up Mustangs into 1969-70 Mustangs and Shelbys, and who could forget 4th gen F-bodies into 1957 Chevrolets and MN-12 Thunderbirds turned into 1949 Fords? If it is cheap, it will look like crap. If it looks good, it’s unbelievably expensive, and we have yet to see one where the proportions look right in person. There’s a couple that are close, but most of them aren’t for us.
We’ve seen some of the body kits out there that convert the late-model Dodge Challenger to a Plymouth ‘Cuda look-alike, but as far as we know, this is the first re-skin we’ve seen. That’s kind of surprising, because a used Challenger is a hell of a lot cheaper than most E-body ‘Cudas out there for sale. Admittedly, on the surface, they did a great job of making a Challenger look like a 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda. You can still make out the Challenger’s body lines (especially around the doors) but this is one of the better cars we’ve seen done up. But read the description and see if you can pick out some issues here:
Ever wish you could travel back in time, re-live the American Graffitti plus some? Today, we see early model cars with late model motors, including late model cars trying to be modernized or updated with newer interiors (seats, dash, etc)….and trying to make this work together can sometimes be frustrating, but how about a new twist? If you prefer the old school looks but the newer model drive capability & safety, we just may be able to make you think you’ve entered a time capsule. Leave your new model alone, keep all of the electronics, safety devices, structural integrity intact , ABS, Power Windows, heated seats, sunroofs, etc & just change her clothes. Look at what we can build for you….
We have created a 50 state street legal 500 hp 6.4 Hemi.
The attached pictures includes a custom designed & built 2012 Challenger that we converted into a 1971 Hemi ‘Cuda. THIS CAR HAS A RESERVE. This particular car as shown, per customer’s request, DOES NOT have airbags installed, but has been built with all the sweet treats of a SRT8. Including Big Brakes, Big Suspension, Electronic Traction Control, Fuel Injection, Seat Belts, ABS, Premium Sound Satellite Radio, EPA equipped, Custom Wheels & of course an original head turning color of Sassy Grass Green.

I’d like to see a BMW Mini converted to look like a proper Leyland Mini – especially a John Cooper Works car. This is a magnificent idea and gives old-time looks with modern performance, handling and dare I say it fuel economy.
Anothed old/new conversion that makes sense is an air-cooled VW Beetle body on the new platform and for the ultimate – A Ford UK Capri/Mustang hybrid – Droooooooooooool…….
Mad Geordie, look up perana capri from south africa, it’s a factory mustang engined capri
I’ve parked my Mini (76) next to a BMW MINI and the new ones are massive comparatively. It would be a miracle to meld the two. Same goes for the air cooled VWs.
I think a kit to change an SRT-8 Charger into an Edsel would be great edition. 😉
and to think it started out as a Chrysler 300 4dr, converted to a 2 dr, converted to a….
I like it good job!
thats well done! me likey! wait what? no air bags? i have to assume this thing was balled up at some point? where the hell do you get all the 70 cuda tidbits?
It doesnt look that bad to me. Proportionally it looks pretty correct.
It’s still a POS Chrysler Fiat K-Car screw job.
How about build a time machine to when Chrysler actually made these cars?
It is one of the better mashups I’ve seen, but it still just does not look right. No thanks, not for me. I always get visions of bad 80’s kit cars whenever I see these mashups.
You can buy all of the sheet metal from various vendors. Here’s one example. http://www.dantesparts.com/sheetmetal.html
