Best Of 2015: It’s An Imperial, An El Camino, And A Dually, All In One!

Best Of 2015: It’s An Imperial, An El Camino, And A Dually, All In One!

Of all of the weird stuff I’ve seen over the years, this one is in the running for the Top 10. Hell, it just might make the top 3, because I genuinely don’t know what to make of it. The majority of it is an Imperial and …well, I’d better let the builder tell you what happened next.

I love this thing.. but I need room for other toys. do not text .. do not text! do not text! (No fear there.)
it is (was) a 1965 Chrysler imperial. (Let us remember the good times…)
now its a dually el camino ranchero truck. (chi·me·ra (noun): something that exists only in the imagination and is not possible in reality)
its made of many different rigs ..chevy pu. mustang. bronco. Cadillac. jeep. Camaro. and f350 (May their memories live on.)
it has a dana 70 rearend (dually) 410 gears ..carbureted 96 chevy vortec 383 stroker (Ok, there is some good in all of this.)

and a turbo 350 with a manual valve body. (More good…)
collector plates.. never buy tabs again ! and a clear tittle (I’m not making that joke.)
I drive it often and it gets tons of attention! (“What the hell is that?!”)
call me and i’ll tell ya anything you wanna know ! (What is the meaning of this tomfoolery?!)

Part of me likes it, part of me absolutely and unabashedly hates it. The overall concept is sweet, but that steering wheel and some of the other touches kill it for me. At $5500, this thing had better run like a dream. What do you think…fix the wrongs or run like hell?

I know I should be ready to barf all over my laptop, but this thing is so cool!

Ditch the dually wheels and rear fender flares, put on some black smoothies and slam it into the weeds – then take it out on Halloween.

Dracula’s going trick or treating and he’s got a serious sugar habit!

  2. pontiac drag racer

This thing is beautiful compared to some other “custom” vehicles you’ve shown here. Loose the steering wheel and it’s not half bad.

  3. ram50boosted

someone went to a lot of time and trouble to make one unique vehicle, and then completely ruined it with a small block chebby.

  4. Denis Lachapelle

    I want it !
Needs a few wrongs righted, but I love it.

    where is it ? what’s the add # ??

It’s the perfect tow vehicle for Rob Zombine’s Dragula.

I’d probably swap to a more conventional steering wheel, but otherwise – this one oddly makes more sense than most of the oddballs posted here.

I actually kinda like this freak-a-zoid of a car. The windows at the back of the doors is what needs something. Runded off? An angle put on the glass? Something. The squareness of it dont really work. The rest of it is kinda cool. Can we say, Dare to be different!

It’s not a bad idea, it just needs some re engineering. Buy a similar Imperial, Leave it a sedan and drop it on a slammed 2wd dodge diesel chassis. Perfection. I think the builder went too far for my taste. It is well executed for what it is though.

I am thinking of certain people I would like to impale, accidentally of course, while backing up with those fins.

Awesome! For some reason, I dig the sh&@ out of that thing. Yeah, “thing”, that covers the bulk of it. I too would try and round the back corners of the side glass, & supports too, with trying to keep the stainless trim. And, while I’m a street rodder/drag style car guy, I can also see dropping a wicked, torque monster of a turbo diesel in the bastard and really hurting some feelings on Friday nights!!!
Keep up the good work BS

Guessing it started life as a funeral flower car? As a die hard Chevy guy, this thing needs a 440 Mopar motor, and it needs a Mopar hood not a cowl induction hood. Spiderweb steering wheel? Never seen one of those before, fun, ingenious, but no.
I think it is fun that when we usually see a vehicle we like, we say to ourselves, ” I would add this, or I would add that” ie suspension, blower, turbo, etc. On this car, ” I would undo this, and undo that “

Snatch that little sbc out and put a big block in it, And I agree with everyone else lose the steering wheel. Change the white interior to black. And perhaps a custom cap as I live where it snows. Maybe put a 5th wheel hitch in it . Just saying

  12. Gary Smrtic

Lose the steering wheel, get the seats rebuilt and with leather, and above all, get rid of that POS Chevy motor and trans, and put a 413, 727, with a GVO in it, and be king of the road!
