Chrysler to Auction Historical Collection Vehicles, Not the Good Ones

Chrysler to Auction Historical Collection Vehicles, Not the Good Ones

Whenever we hear of a domestic auto manufacturer auctioning off parts of their company historical collections we kind of freak out. When the news broke that Chrysler was going to sell some of their stuff we were saddened until we learned most of what’s going is total junk. Is anyone going to cry over a 1995 Chrysler Cirrus or 1982 Frank Sinatra edition Imperial? Not us!

These is some semi-neat stuff going out the door like a 1918 Nash Quad four-wheel-drive car, a 1985 Commanche truck that ran at Bonneville and set records, and our personal favorite, a 1975 Dodge CNT900 big rig. That’s the one pictured that, if you look close, seems to have a leaky gas tank.

The junk?  A 1985 Dodge Lancer ES, 1990 Plymouth Horizon hatchback, and the very first Renault Alliance, which has only 23 miles on the odometer, presumably because it broke down at that point.

GM had a similar thinning of the herd last year and a couple of neat Corvette test cars went across the block but most of the stuff was weirdo junk like this auction.

We’re just interested to see how much the Alliance goes for.
