Clueless Newspaper Overplays “Cash for Clunkers” Maserati Turn-In

Here’s a way to start your Monday with a laugh. A guy turns in a 1980s, problem-riddled Maserati Bi-Turbo, and Virginia’s Portfolio Weekly treats it like the dude just dropped off a freaking Ferrari Enzo.

Even better than the actual story are the reader comments on the car that range from a guy who calls it a “POS” to someone who defends this particular model as one of the best cars of the 1980s. We remember being kids and freaking out as seeing the Maserati name. The we got older and did some research and found out that most of these cars acted like the one that was turned in. They mostly ran like junk and rotted quickly in northern climes where salt is involved in caring for the roads in the winter.
