We knew it was coming, but it still sucks to hear. The Senate voted to infuse $2 billion more dollars into the “Cash for Clunkers” Program today, cementing its presence as one of the all-time stupidest government programs ever instituted.

Piling through all of the news outlets and their various takes on what this means and how the program will continue from here on out, the most interesting and (shockingly!) even-handed analysis came from the NY Times. Citing “experts” from both sides, various questions are asked about the cars being turned in and the overall viability of the program itself.

We’d make this a Friday Excuse to Go Home Early and Drink, but that would be a telegraphed punch.
