The Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge has really become the defacto measuring stick for the highest level Pro Touring cars in the world. Featuring events like a Speed Stop Challenge, Autocross, Hot Lap Challenge, Road Rally, and Performance and Design Challenge, it is a grueling contest that pushes all the cars and competitors to their limit.
Optima recently came out with an announcement regarding the sponsors for this year’s running of the event and you’ll recognize a couple of the names as they are sponsors of BangShift as well! RideTech will be sponsoring the Autocross, which is fitting as Brett Vokel and the guys mash cones and terrorize the blacktop all summer long in their fleet of company cars, including the 48 Hour Camaro.
The road rally portion of the event will be supported by Kyle and Stacey Tucker’s company Detroit Speed and Engineering. They’ve been building awesome project cars and developing some innovatve and market changing products to help classic muscle and pony car shred corners better than weenie Euro exotics for years. Like the Ridetech crew, Detroit Speed and Engineering will undoubtedly have a car in the event to battle all comers with!
