Buicks were certainly a hot GM ticket in the late ‘50s. With an economy that was rebounding from a bit of a slump, many people were aspiring to own one of the General’s intermediate luxury cars. Buicks were a marque to aspire too, and for good reason.
These cars were sporting healthy, high-compression motors thumping out over 300 hp and the design elements being featured were straight off of the concept cars of the day. Although this photo is a taxi-cab four door, we still dig it because of the hardtop styling.
Pulling up to a dinner party in this bad boy was a sign you had arrived and the world was your oyster. They were heady days indeed.
