Police in Slidell, Louisiana recently stopped and cited two drivers for street racing. They were not in the normal hell-raising chariots. In fact, they were in a big rig towing an empty gasoline tank trailer and a 1995 Honda Accord. According to the report we read, the big rig, even with the trailer, was in the lead when the police put a stop to the contest.
The award for dumbest participant in this one is a draw. Is it the idiot pulling the “empty” fuel tanker at 80mph down a back road or the rocket scientist in the Honda Accord that would be killed instantly if something went wrong? You make the call.
Did we forget to mention that the news story on the incident says that the police report shows the Honda was losing to the big rig! Now that’s performance!
Lastly, the two drivers were honest enough to admit to racing because, according to the story, they talked about how fast their vehicles were. These two were one small problem away from Darwin Awards infamy.
