Craigslist Find: Goliath’s Long Lost Ford Brother

Craigslist Find: Goliath’s Long Lost Ford Brother

As our in house Project Goliath gains popularity and infamy across the web, we’re getting more and more stuff sent to us regarding old medium and heavy duty trucks. Purchasing this totally awesome 1964 Ford F70 would result in our immediate and permanent ejection from our home and marriage. Convincing someone we know to by it to have a slow cruising buddy however is perfectly acceptable.

This big fellow seems to be in far better shape than Goliath was in when we got him. Everything seems to be intact including the floors. The seller claims that the 330ci engine runs good and, like Goliath, the truck has a manual trans (most likely a four speed) and single-speed rear end. The wheelbase seems too long for a pickup bed, but a nice black diamond-plate flatbed would be bitchin’ behind the cab.

Make no mistake about it. If we could get away with it, this big green Ford would be parked right next to our big green Chevy. Unfortunately, we’d need to have David Copperfield-esque magic skills to hide something this large.

The 330ci engine in the truck is actually from the Ford “FT” engine family which is related to the vaunted FE engines. It was used from 1964-1978 and they featured steel cranks among other differences.

The truck is in Connecticut. It needs to go to a good New England home!
