Do The Modified Quarter Windows On This 1973 454 SS Chevelle Make You Not Want To Buy It?

Sometimes people do the strangest things to cars. I’ll give you that they usually don’t realize that a car might someday be worth something, but still. This 1973 Chevelle SS 454 is one such car. Sure these have not been popular for long, and some folks wondered if they would every actually be worth owning, but if any 1973 Chevelle is going to be worth something it would undoubtedly be the SS 454 cars. In this particular case this ultra low mileage SS has some custom body mods in the quarter window area. They are much smaller than stock and look more like something you would see on a Monte Carlo. But enough about the body mods, check out the rest of this thing.

With just 38,000 miles on the odometer, this two owner car has the numbers matching big block, Muncie 4-speed, 10 bolt posi, and more. It also features original cold air conditioning and swivel buckets. It’s a nice car, that’s for sure, and for someone looking for this body style this one might be the one to have. The paint has clearly been redone but looks ultra clean. It’s also got a clean Flowmaster exhaust, Edelbrock Intake and Chevrolet Performance valve covers. Enough to make this thing a little custom but not enough to take away from the low mileage stockers originality either.

The windows are the same that came stock on my Mom’s 1975 Chevelle Malibu Classic. If you didn’t point them out I’m sure that at least half of the readership wouldn’t have noticed them.

They just look like 74-75 quarter windows without the chrome molding around the edge, what’s the big deal. They definitely look better than 73 quarter windows. Probably pretty easy to do with OE parts, inside and out. An improvement.

No they wouldn\’t stop me they look the same as my 77 Malibu classic did. By the way where are the seatbelts?

Are those the factory tail lights? They seem like an afterthought. Not sure I care for them, they’re growing on me.

I love seeing a unique muscle car that I\’ve never seen before . Wow, if I had the money today! Thanks!

Sheesh I’m liking this, but the windows don’t do it. I seem to be in the minority so far but that being said if I was to put out the dosh for this a competent body shop could fix those windows easy.

Nice car, and a low numbers car, and it’s always funny to see the reactions to big car 10 bolts. Properly prepped they’ll take monster abuse………..

I pretty sure that window was a copy of what NASCAR racers were doing to try to improve aerodynamics. So that factory changed the production cars later in the year.
