Do you know why people always swap Small Block Chevrolet’s, LS engines, or the occasional Small Block Ford into everything? Because they fit nice. They are small, have great aftermarket support, and make real power real easily. So if one of these had been swapped into just about any vehicle on earth it wouldn’t make me think twice. But when you find a V8 Suzuki Samurai for sale, that has had a 440 Dodge swapped into it, you have to question the motivation and thought that went into it. If you think I’m being snobby or prejudiced against the 440, think again. They are cool engines, and I have zero issue with them in cars and trucks that should have them, but in a Suzuki Samurai?

Just look at the firewall on this thing. It’s clear that this is NOT the smart fit in this platform. Just because it isn’t smart doesn’t mean I wouldn’t drive the holy hell out of that thing. You know it has to do really go burnouts. It might not be much good at anything else, but I bet it is good at that. I wonder why the engine is set back so far? I half way think it has to be that far back for the oil pan to clear the front axle. I bet it isn’t easy to drive with a 440 sitting that far back, but who knows!

Good thing websites, or their readers, can’t street race on the information super highway. Jalopnik had this featured two days ago as a NPOND contender. And despite it’s YouTube fame, was voted a poor value by the readership. Considering it’s been on LA CL for over a week, the buying public seems to agree.

i can’t help drawing comparisons to hemi powered willies coupe’s and thinking this is 50 years later and probably the only thing that small with a ladder chassis

Not street legal. Not a 4×4. Not an OHV. What good is this piece of junk? Amusing build for TV but useless.
