Rough Start: 1971 Ford F-350 With A Handy Tilt Nose!

I don’t know why I’m picking on Lohnes lately. The man has done nothing wrong to me. But lately I’ve just had it out for him vehicle-wise. First it was that stuntman-ready Chevrolet pickup truck find. Then earlier today, it was a laid-out late 1960s Chevy C40 flatbed that is done up to the nines and is for sale locally. Now, we have this. I’m half-expecting him to find the most well-done Dodge Mirada to pay me back for any day now, but what the hell…

Anyways, even if I wasn’t picking on the boss, this 1971 Ford is something to look at. A bumpside Ford flatbed might make you croon out the lines to “Take It Easy” by The Eagles, but they are so much more than just a simple work truck. Of course, you don’t tell Lohnes that, because a simple work truck is exactly what he’s all about. He, of all people, loves the classic utility and durability of trucks of yore and surely, if anybody I know is going to dig a root-beer brown, six-cylinder F-350 with a custom tilt nose, it’s going to be him.

Usually at this point, I’d be hunting for something to change on this truck, but this is where I have to say that might not be a good idea. How quickly would you change this thing’s personality? Outside of a replacement steering wheel that didn’t look like it’d been shot with a small pistol, I wouldn’t change a thing. Would I like to manual-swap it and find a good highway gear setup for it? Of course. But that would take away from what this truck already is.
