Brady Basner from Powermaster Starters and Alternators gets all the credit in the world for this completely genius Craigslist find. The ad is for a 1983 Celica that caught fire and burned up. The fire was concentrated in the engine bay and the guy is parting out the non-charred pieces and parts that are left. It sucks that the guy’s car burned to a crisp, but we were cracking up looking at the Craigslist at because the lead photo is of the car actually on fire and the next couple of photos are of the firemen who responded to the car-b-cue actually extinguishing the Toyota-inferno.
The dude is sticking to his guns as well. The last line of the ad reads, “ If you want the whole car, same thing, but i know what its worth at the scrapyard so dont try to call and get it for nothing.” Here that you cheap jerk? Don’t you dare pick up the phone and attempt to steal this burned up husk of a 1983 Toyota Celica for anything less than scrap metal….you filthy animal. No details are given about the hows and whys of the fire but it looks like it was a good one. There’s nothing much left in the engine bay.
Here’s the text of the ad:
the car caught fire and burned in the driveway. From the tranny back is good.and from the doors back its good. the main parts i plan to pull are the
-doors (glass in them)
-trans 5spd (shifted good) bolts to a 22-R
-driveshaft
-rear axle and wheels
-tail lights
-back glass
-trunk lid
everything else is pretty much toast. If i dont sell much off it in a couple of weeks its going to the scrapyard
Oh,What a feel’n,toyota
